How this tool works
The AAST penis injury scale: Grade I cutaneous laceration/contusion; Grade II Buck fascia (cavernosal) laceration without tissue loss; Grade III cutaneous avulsion, laceration through glans/meatus, or cavernosal/urethral defect <2 cm; Grade IV cavernosal or urethral defect ≥2 cm or partial penectomy; Grade V total penectomy. Penile fracture (tunica albuginea rupture of the erect penis) is typically managed with early surgical repair. Always evaluate the urethra when cavernosal injury is present. Amputation injuries require time-critical replantation logistics when the part is available.
