Rutherford Classification
1.0.0Assigns Rutherford category 0–6 for chronic lower-extremity ischemia using clinical description plus objective hemodynamic criteria (treadmill/ankle and toe pressures, PVR). Rough Fontaine-stage cross-references are included for communication with teams that use the European clinical scale.

How this tool works
Rutherford’s chronic limb ischemia scheme (1986, revised 1997) pairs symptom severity with noninvasive vascular lab findings. Categories 0–3 cover asymptomatic disease and claudication; 4–6 define chronic limb-threatening ischemia (rest pain and tissue loss). Standard treadmill protocols and pulse-volume recordings underpin the objective cutoffs.
