Stroke Imaging Scores
Stroke imaging is several scores that look similar in a list and answer different questions: how much MCA territory is involved, how large a haemorrhage is, how tight a carotid is, whether a thrombectomy restored flow. This page sorts them by the question.
Educational reference for qualified professionals. Confirm the result against the source cited on the tool page and against local protocol.
Ischaemia and haemorrhage
ASPECTS is not an ICH score. Early ischaemic change and haemorrhage volume are different measurements, and the clinical ICH score adds bedside items the volume does not contain.
- ASPECTS - Alberta Stroke Program Early CT ScoreCalculator
ASPECTS for early ischaemic change in the anterior circulation.
- Posterior Circulation ASPECTS (pc-ASPECTS)Calculator
pc-ASPECTS for the posterior circulation. Not a rename of ASPECTS.
- Intracerebral Hemorrhage Volume (ABC/2)Calculator
Haemorrhage volume from three diameters.
- ICH ScoreCalculator
Clinical ICH score. Volume is one input, not the whole score.
- mTICI / TICI Reperfusion GradeCalculator
mTICI reperfusion grade after thrombectomy.
- Suspected acute ischaemic strokeVetting
Which study an acute ischaemic stroke pathway asks for, and in what order.
- CT Head — UnenhancedProtocol
Unenhanced CT head, the first acquisition in most acute pathways.
- MRI Brain — acute strokeProtocol
Stroke-protocol brain MRI when the pathway has moved to MRI.
Carotid and TIA
These are not acute-CT scores. They describe stenosis or a short-term clinical risk after a TIA.
- Carotid Stenosis (NASCET & ECST)Calculator
NASCET percent stenosis from the residual lumen and the distal ICA.
- ABCD2 Score (TIA Stroke Risk)Calculator
ABCD2 after a suspected TIA. A clinical score, not a CT score.
- Carotid imaging after TIA or minor strokeVetting
Imaging the carotid after a TIA or stroke.
Questions these pages get
ASPECTS or pc-ASPECTS?
ASPECTS scores the anterior circulation, ten MCA-territory regions. pc-ASPECTS scores the posterior circulation and uses different regions. A low number means something different in each, so the calculator has to match the territory.
