Pulmonary Nodule Calculators

An incidental nodule and a screening nodule are not the same decision. These tools cover follow-up categories, malignancy probability, PET, and measured growth. Open the one that matches the setting and the data you actually have. Each page cites its own source and shows its own thresholds.

Educational reference for qualified professionals. Confirm the result against the source cited on the tool page and against local protocol.

Follow-up categories

Category systems tell you the next interval. They are not probability models, and a screening scheme should not be applied to a nodule found for another reason.

Probability and growth

Probability models need the inputs they were built on. A missing PET result is a reason to use a CT-only model, not to guess a Herder category. Growth is a measurement, not a risk score.

Questions these pages get

Fleischner or Lung-RADS?

Fleischner is for an incidental nodule found outside screening. Lung-RADS is for a screening CT. Using one in the other setting produces a recommendation the source did not write. Both calculators are linked above so the setting can be matched before the category is.

Brock, Mayo, or Herder?

Brock and Mayo estimate probability from clinical and CT features. Herder is the step that folds in FDG-PET, so it is the wrong page when there is no PET. Volume doubling time does not estimate probability at all — it describes growth between two scans.
